FEATURED PROJECTS
BASKERVILLE ROAD, SW18
A very complex but exciting project, working
alongside the design and build team of a substantial house renovation to synchronise practical completion.
The client had a very clear brief to create a beautiful sophisticated space, largely laid to lawn, to suit all members of the family with interest for the children but without a single trace of play equipment!
Graduated terraces were important to the client too so as to avoid an oppressive feel to the newly excavated basement rooms to this beautiful town house.
Our approach was to provide lots of lawn area but in 2 sections with completely different moods and interest. The first lawn mirrored in dimension and form the beautiful architecture and design to the rear facade of the house.

The second lawn was a narrow strip of grass flanked only by contemporary low level hedging and scented jasmine with a bespoke solid oak swing opposite an incidental bench, both capturing the evening sun.
The final section of the garden was an area for the children. We worked with the shady aspect created by the surrounding tree canopies of the common creating their very own woodland with tree trunk stepping stones, a stylish solid oak frame nest swing and gymnastics bar.
Stunning limestone paved the graduated terraces up to garden level and was introduced in small detail throughout the garden for unity. The need for attention to detail on this project was immense, but vital in the overall success of this stunning home.
TESTIMONIAL
We commissioned Tris to do an entire redesign of our garden after an extensive house refurbishment. It was a complicated brief due to the complexities of the build and the fact that there are a number of different level changes. We wanted a design which allowed for lovely planting as well as to allow a play area for our 3 children without having to look at play equipment!
Tris had to collaborate extensively with the architect and build company for the house refurbishment as the areas are so interlinked. I believe her amazing communication skills as well as her in depth understanding of the technical aspects of a build ensured that the project was such a success. Her attention to detail is second to none and was absolutely critical in the design of the stone terraces and steps.
Tris also project managed the redesign, arranging the tender process, appointment of contractor and oversaw the installation. She really did take away any potential stress points!
As for the finished product - due to Tris’s vision and creativity it is actually better than I could ever have imagined. The depth and interest in the planting, the proportions and aspect we look out on are simply stunning. The children are thrilled to have a beautiful area to play in - an area which has been so subtly included in the design that you hardly notice it so I am delighted too! I can’t wait to see how the garden changes over the coming seasons and how it matures. Tris has created a beautiful sanctuary for us all and I could not recommend her highly enough.
