THE DESIGN PROCESS

Initial Consultation

At our first meeting, we establish together the functional and aspirational requirements for your garden in terms of how the space will work for you and your family, your lifestyle, and the look and mood to be achieved.

We factor in the garden’s aspect, site limitations, borrowed landscapes and other attributes, including budget and desired maintenance levels. Upon completion, we then produce a detailed Brief and Design Proposal for your consideration.  This initial meeting will explore lots of ideas and detail as it is imperative a garden reflects the needs and desires of its owner and complements the interior of a home.

Site Survey

Upon approval of the Design Proposal, a fully detailed, measured survey is undertaken, including an analysis of levels, drainage, soil structure and type.

Concept & Master Plan

A Concept Plan of the Garden is presented to you together with a Mood Board, a 3D Impression to aid visualisation and sample hard landscaping materials.  Once all elements have been considered/amended and are signed off, we transition to a Master Design Plan along with a full package of working documents and specifications ready for build.

Planting

A similar design consultation will be undertaken for the style and scheme of planting to complement the garden design. We will look at structure, habit, form, texture, size, colour and season of interest as well as the aspect to ensure the plants thrive and perform to their very best ability and provide year round interest.

A Planting Mood Board will be presented for your approval, followed by a detailed Plant Schedule ready for ordering and delivery.   Plants and trees are sourced from specialist nurseries and growers in the UK (and Europe where necessary) to ensure good, healthy specimens.

The relationship between the Design and Planting Scheme is the essence of a successful garden.
